You will work closely with program leadershipand across engineering, operations, and business development to build a team focused on solving hardproblems and changing the industry. A test plan written withoutfleet operating experience misses the failure modes, workflows, and edge cases that matter at sea. Inthis role, you’ll apply that experience directly: time spent operating unmanned or manned surface vesselsin real conditions, translated into test plans, demonstration events, and exercises that reflect how thefleet actually operates.You also serve as the bridge between the engineering team and the fleet. You identify gaps between ourplatforms and existing fleet procedures, equipment, and concepts of employment, and feed that insightback into design and test planning. You represent the operator's perspective in design reviews andrequirements discussions, and support direct engagement with fleet units and customers duringintegration, test, and demonstration events.WHAT YOU'LL DOSupport the integration of surface platform subsystems, including sensors, navigation, propulsion, communication systems, autonomy software, and power systems, into a complete surface platformDevelop, review, and execute test plans for development, integration, and acceptance testing, informed by hands-on fleet operating experienceSupport day-to-day test operations, including pre-mission testing, launch and recovery, vehicle tasking, and data analysis for internal and customer-facing effortsDesign test and demonstration scenarios that reflect real fleet operating conditions, procedures, and tacticsIdentify gaps between platform capability and existing fleet equipment, procedures, and concepts of employment, and feed findings back to engineering and program leadershipSupport hands-on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of surface maritime platforms in the fieldAuthor and/or review detailed test reports documenting internal and customer-facing test and evaluation effortsSupport local and offshore sea testing and operations, including multi-day offshore operationsSet up, collect, and refine operational metrics for test and fleet performanceParticipate in design reviews, requirements analysis, and system verification planning, representing the operator's perspectiveCollaborate with fleet units, external partners, and customers during integration and test, cataloging their requirements and supporting payload and system integration into the overall mission lifecycleSupport configuration control, version control, documentation, and safety processes across land- and sea-based test and integration efforts, including extended hours as requiredAbility to travel up to 50% of the time, including multi-day offshore operations, with potential for more during key test campaigns and fleet integration eventsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience operating unmanned or manned surface vessels at sea, with demonstrated ability to translate that experience into realistic test and demonstration scenarios, ideally as a recent Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) in the United States NavyFamiliarity with concepts of mechanical engineering, software development and testing, electrical engineering, and control theoryExperience in field test and/or operationally focused environmentsKnowledge of electronics troubleshooting and ability to use basic test equipmentProficient in reading and understanding engineering drawings and specificationsExtremely organized and detail-orientedExcellent verbal and written communication skills, effective across technical and non-technical audiencesA sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative cultureHigh ownership and a bias toward actionAbility to travel up to 50% of your time, with potential for more during key test campaigns and fleet integration eventsEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearanceIn this role, you will be subject to pre-employment and randomized substance screening, as required by the Company.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience integrating surface and airborne sensors, surface vessel navigation, and communication systemsA genuine interest and 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration, and testExperience generating TRRs, test plans, test procedures, and test reportsDemonstrated experience with marine operational procedures and equipment, spanning coastal to deep-water operationsExperience briefing customers, partners, or fleet stakeholders on emerging capabilitiesProficiency in data analysis tools: Python, MATLAB, R, SQLExperience developing and managing a test and evaluation programCurrently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearanceUS Salary Range$146,000—$194,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
